Image Manipulation
Various programs are supplied to facilitiate image manipulation, these include GIMP, InkScape and others that together provide functionality comparible to that of Adobe's Illustrator and phgotoshop. Functionality includes:
- many formats supported including GIF, JPEG, PNG, SVG, bitmaps and many more
- Layer manipulation and sophisticated many area selection methods
- Automated routines for performing tasks (such as removing Redeye)
- Use of open standards to reduce incompatibilities and increase inter-operability
- Can be imported to, and exported from, office documents
